Personally I like the demo versions that are on the double cd's better. Agreed too over produced. Still a great album..

Punch the Clock is favourite EC Album right after Spike...
Anyway, I don't think this album is too over produced, its just got a lot more music(instruments) Brass section, bass drums, piano, and on certain tracks some guitars, thats a lot, not to mention vocals...
And even more so is that everything is set up to be the main focus... you can pick and chose as it pleases you, be it brass, bass, vocals, whatever!

i think punch the clock was too overproduced, the accompaniment took over the songs, and really i would think focus on his lyrics and his voice would be the most important.....
